I think we skipped spring.
Yesterday my kids and I spent quite a while out in the back yard and it is HOT. We filled up the pool and they both got in and out because the water is still freezing, but after a nap we came back out and the water was so nice. It just seems odd to be playing in the water in April. Nice, but odd.
Not that I played in it. I sat and read Little Women. Can you believe it is the first time I ever read this book? I can't. It is wonderful and I will be sad to end it. My sister and I are trying to read all these books that everyone should read, so if you have any suggestions just leave me a comment. We have caught up on Jane Austen and have read Jane Eyre, so hit me up with lots of suggestions.

Ugh. I'm am JEALOUS! High for us today was -2.
As for book recommendations:
Room With A View (so just you nevermind my blog post from yesterday) - EM Forester.
The Age Of Innocence - Edith Wharton. It is really funny and clever. And kinda Bitchy.
The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath. It is so good!
The Quiet American - Graham Greene.
The English Patient - Michael Ondatjee. Not REALLY a classic but a very good read.
I found my way to a good many classics, by reading the novels that inspired movies I loved. I am very low brow.
It's -1 here. I've NEVER read Little Women! Not ever!
Let's see, book recommendations? To Kill A Mockingbird is a good one. My favorite Graham Greene novel is The End of The Affair. And I really love Fifth Business by Robertson Davies.
Wow, that is pretty warm to be swimming in April. It has been warm here too, but not that warm! Today the temp dropped though and it is 49 degrees outside, ugh!
I was on a kick to read all the classics too but I got off of it. I should do that again, if I could just find the time!
Some of the books I've read are: The Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, David Copperfield (which I have not finished yet!), To Kill a Mockingbird and A Farewell to Arms. I really like Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Have a great day and enjoy your read!
Yes new recommendations would be nice!! I love reading the classics too! Love Little women and Pride and prejudice!! Thanks too all for the new book lists!!!
What a sweet blog you have here. Your kids are cute. I think Spring skipped us too. It went from 50's to 80s
I was JUST thinking about picking up Little Women to read again. I have a very old copy- such a good book! And I'm jealous of the warm weather, too. : (
Steph
